Make SATs practice feel like play.

For Years 3, 4, 5 & 6

KS2 SATs practice for Years 3–6 — maths, reading and grammar

Most of us know the evening. The workbook comes out; two questions later, the pencil tapping starts. SATs Arcade gives you another way in, with questions that stay at their level and never above their year.

How it works

One useful next step, whatever today needs.

You do not need a plan for the whole term. You need one useful thing to do tonight, and a way to see afterwards whether it landed.

  1. 1

    Start where they got stuck

Start with whatever went wrong today. A game may be enough; use the lesson when they need the method first.

  2. 2

    Bring difficult topics back

Instant marking explains each answer. Smart review returns to the areas that still need work.

  3. 3

See progress, then try a paper

Follow topic progress and practice habits. Five mock-paper formats are ready when SATs get closer.

Beyond the arcade

Choose the right kind of practice for today.

Some evenings a five-minute game is enough. Fractions were different in our house: one of ours needed the method shown slowly, then a few questions while it was still fresh. When SATs got closer, we used a timed paper to see what still needed work.

Standard practice sessions

Ten focused questions

Most evenings, you just need a useful place to begin. Pick one subject and one topic; your child gets instant marking and an explanation before the next question.

Show the method first

If fractions still are not clicking, start with a short lesson. It shows the method in small steps, checks each one, then takes your child straight into practice while the idea is fresh.

Sit a paper properly

A timer changes how a paper feels. Practise Arithmetic, both Reasoning papers, Reading and Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling. The result includes a mark, a scaled-score estimate and every answer ready to review.

Smart practice and review

Bring the difficult bits back

The questions your child found difficult do not disappear into a score. SATs Arcade can bring those topics back in a later session, so practice follows what they actually need.

Built on the real curriculum

We know exactly what each question teaches

Most practice sites sort questions into loose topics like “fractions”. We went through all 25,050+ of ours and matched each one to the specific objective it assesses in the KS2 national curriculum, checked against the Department for Education’s programmes of study and test frameworks.

Every question, mapped

All 25,050+ questions carry the curriculum objective they actually assess — not just a topic label.

And what builds on what

230 objectives, joined up so we know which skills a child needs before the next one makes sense.

So practice goes deeper

When something is shaky, practice can go back to the foundation underneath it, instead of drilling the same question again.

It also told us what to take out: the same check found questions testing skills from secondary school, and we removed them.

Why we built this

Our children have been through SATs too.

We are a family, not a tech company. We built SATs Arcade because our own children needed it, and we could not find anything both rigorous enough to work and fun enough that they would open it without being asked. Every feature is tested on them first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SATs Arcade really free?

Yes — you can start completely free with no card. The free plan gives daily practice across Years 3–6; a subscription unlocks unlimited practice, mock tests and the parent dashboard.

What year groups is it for?

Years 3 to 6 (KS2). Questions are served at your child’s working level — never above their year — so it grows with them all the way to Year 6 SATs.

Which SATs subjects do you cover?

All three: Maths (15 topics), Reading (6 topics), and Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling (35 topics). That is 56 named KS2 topics across Years 3–6.

Is it safe for children?

We store a child’s first name, year group, answers and scores. We do not ask for their surname, school, date of birth, photo, location or phone number. Children cannot contact each other, there are no adverts, and payments and settings sit behind a PIN-gated parent area.

How much does a subscription cost?

There’s a free plan to start, plus Standard and Family subscriptions (Family covers up to four children). See the pricing page for current prices.

Do you support children with SEN?

Practice is untimed by default and the interface is built for accessibility, so children can work at their own pace without time pressure.

Ready when they are

Give the next practice session somewhere useful to start.

Pick the topic that caused trouble today. Use the lesson if they need the method, or go straight to a short practice session. The free plan is enough to see whether it works in your house.
