The same shape as the real test

Five things every parent says after their child’s first run.

6 seconds per question

The same answer window the real MTC uses. Builds genuine recall speed, not just accuracy.

STA-weighted question mix

6×, 7×, 8×, 9× and 12× appear more often — the tables the statutory framework focuses on.

Weakness by table

After every session, see exactly which tables to drill next. No more guessing.

Extra-time mode

10-second window for children with EHCPs or access arrangements — same provision STA allows on the day.

MTC Ready score

Rolling average of your last 5 sessions. Track readiness all the way to June.

UK-built, child-safe

No surnames, no photos, no public scores. Children's-data compliant by design.

What is the MTC?

The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) is a statutory test taken by every Year 4 child in state-funded schools in England. It happens in a two-week window in early June.

Each pupil answers 25 multiplication questions on a tablet or computer. Each question is multiplication facts from the 2× to the 12× tables. They have 6 seconds to answer each question, with 3 seconds of rest in between. The whole thing takes less than 5 minutes.

There is no “pass mark” published by the Department for Education — but headteachers and Year 4 teachers commonly treat 20/25 as the rough threshold for being “MTC ready”. Most children comfortably score 22+ after a few weeks of regular practice.
